What are the methods for diluting defoamers?
In the field of industrial production, the most common one is the defoamer, which has outstanding performance and one of its biggest features is that it can inhibit the occurrence of foam. So, what are the methods for diluting defoamers, and how much do people know about it?
1. Dilution method of alkali thickening thickener
(1)Weigh the weight of water (deionized water or tap water) according to the proportion to be prepared;
(2)Add thickener (1~2% of the total amount of defoamer to be prepared) and stir evenly;
(3) Use alkaline water (10% NaOH solution) to adjust the pH value to 8, not more than 9, stir while adding alkaline water, pay attention to the final pH when the aqueous solution changes from milky white to clear, and control it at the required value of 8. If it is too high, it can be adjusted with glacial acetic acid;
(4) According to industry experts engaged in the research and development and production of water-based defoamers, add the defoamer to the prepared thickening liquid at one time, stir after adding (the stirring speed should be controlled at about 60 rpm to prevent damage to the defoamer system), stir for 5~10 minutes, and observe the uniform state of the system;
2. Dilution of swelling thickener Method
(1) Weigh the weight of water (deionized water or tap water) according to the proportion to be prepared;
(2) Add thickener (1~2% of the total amount of the defoamer to be prepared), stir for 30 minutes to make the thickening system uniform (observe that there are no particles in the system);
(3) Add the defoamer to the prepared thickening liquid at one time, and stir after adding (the stirring speed should be controlled at about 60 rpm to prevent damage to the defoamer system. If the stirring speed is greater than 60 rpm, the stirring time can be appropriately reduced, and intermittent stirring is best), stir for 5~10 minutes, and observe that the system is uniform; after completing the above steps, add an appropriate amount of preservatives according to the actual situation (less in winter, more in summer, and there are also differences between the north and the south; different preservatives are added in different amounts, and it is recommended to add a little more for insurance) and stir the system evenly.
