Tips for using paint defoamer
Precautions for the use of coating defoaming agents are something that every merchant who purchases and uses coating defoaming agents must understand. When using coating defoaming agents without understanding, counterproductive effects will often occur, such as:
①Why can’t the bubbles disappear even after adding so much?
② When testing the sample, it is clear that the defoaming effect is good, but when faced with a large amount of foam, the defoaming effect is not ideal?
Today I will explain to you what you should pay attention to when using paint defoamer~
There are so many paint defoamers on the market, how do you choose one?
Only by understanding its parameters and combining the parameter indicators with the foam conditions you encounter can you find a defoaming agent suitable for you. This is more targeted.
Paint defoamer has certain requirements on temperature, Ph value and environment.
1. The temperature directly affects the quality of defoaming. Too high or low temperature affects the volatilization of defoaming agent, and demulsification may occur due to too high temperature.
2. PH value, you need to know whether the defoaming agent is acid-resistant or alkali-resistant.
3. The environmental conditions must be good, otherwise the paint defoamer will easily have adverse effects on the surrounding environment.
Before use, do a small trial and then a pilot trial to find the optimal dosage.
The purpose of the small trial is to see the defoaming effect and whether this coating defoaming agent is suitable for its own foam problems; the pilot trial is to check the dosage and addition amount to avoid wasting raw materials.
Note: After the paint defoaming agent is diluted, it should be used as soon as possible and within the effective time. Over time, the defoaming effect will be poor.
