The relationship between silicone defoamer and textile printing and dyeing industry
With the development of science and technology and the improvement of people’s living standards, people are more and more particular about clothing. Therefore, the demand for improving the quality of textile products is becoming more urgent. In order to improve the performance of textiles and improve the quality of products. To meet people’s increasingly high needs and adapt to the increasingly fierce market competition, the textile printing and dyeing industry at home and abroad widely relies on chemical auxiliaries. Among them, silicone polymers are widely used in weaving, dyeing, finishing, sewing and other processes in the textile printing and dyeing industry. It is one of the indispensable auxiliaries for high added value and high functionality of textiles.
In the early 1950s, Dow Corning Corporation of the United States discovered that dimethyl silicone oil and dimethyl siloxane emulsion containing Si-H bonds have good waterproof properties and excellent breathability when used to finish fabrics, thus determining that polysiloxane compounds can be used as excellent fabric waterproof finishing agents.
With the continuous deepening and development of scientific research, the United States, Europe, Japan and other countries have developed a variety of silicone polymers for use as textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries. It has good adaptability, wide range of uses, large consumption, and occupies an incomparable important position in textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries.
Silicone polymers have excellent heat resistance, significant hydrophobicity, good wear resistance and non-stickiness. Silicone modified with organic groups has excellent hydrophilicity and antistatic properties. At the same time, it is soft, smooth and has good resilience.
In the late 1970s, Chinese scientific and technological workers began to develop silicone textile auxiliaries. At present, there are hundreds of scientific research units and factories in my country engaged in the research and production of silicone textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries. There are hundreds of silicone products used in textile printing and dyeing.
Silicone is closely related to the textile industry. More than 20% of the world’s silicone production is used for textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries. The production of silicone in my country started late, but silicone used for textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries accounts for about 25% of the total production.
Silicone defoamers are widely used in the textile printing and dyeing industry, from the spinning, drawing and production of imitation down fibers of chemical fibers, to the combing, drawing and rewashing of textile pre-finishing, the deepening, brightening and defoaming of dyeing, and the coating, waterproofing, oil repellent, hydrophilic, antifouling, antistatic treatment and softening and rebound finishing of fabrics. Silicone additives are used in almost every process.
