Six inspection methods for defoamers for coatings
After the foaming agent manufacturer produces the defoamer for coatings, in order to ensure the product quality, it is necessary to test the performance. The following six inspection methods can be used:
1. Cylinder method: Add an appropriate amount of low-viscosity coating into the cylinder, then add the defoamer, shake it and observe the height of the foam at intervals.
2. High-speed stirring method: Applicable to low-viscosity coatings, measure the foam level after high-speed stirring.
3. Density cup method: Applicable to high-viscosity coatings, add the coating and defoamer together to the homogenizer and stir at high speed, and then measure the height and density of the foam.
4. Circulation method: After coating, the remaining coating will fall into the container, and the height of the coating should be recorded at intervals.
5. Bubbling method: Applicable to low-viscosity coatings, introduce air to make the coating produce foam, and after adding the defoamer, regularly drain the air and record the height of the foam in time.
6. Vibration method: Vibrate repeatedly, and then measure the density of the foam.
