Precautions for defoaming agents during floor construction
Defoamer is the most common additive in epoxy flooring, which can accelerate the collapse of bubbles in flooring materials and prevent shrinkage and pinholes in epoxy floor coatings. However, the following points should be noted during use:
1. Fully stir: It is recommended that defoamer should not be diluted with water, but directly added to the epoxy resin floor, and then fully stirred.
2. Add while stirring: Defoamer should be added during the mixing process of floor materials, and added while stirring to ensure that the defoamer can be dissolved into the floor system.
3. Multiple addition: You can’t add all at once. You have to add several times. The routine procedure is to add them twice. The first time, you add half of the total amount when preparing the floor material, and then add the other half after grinding.
4. Control the amount: The amount of defoamer should be appropriate. If there is too much, there will be side effects. If there is too little, it will not affect the defoaming effect.
5. Control time: It takes at least 24 hours after adding the defoamer to test the performance of the floor material, because the defoamer has durability, otherwise shrinkage and other product quality problems will occur.
