Practical application of defoamer for engine oil
In the process of oil refining, the formation of foam is a common problem. Foams reduce oil lubrication, increase friction and wear, and may result in system performance degradation. Therefore, it is necessary to add defoamer for engine oil in refining process, which plays an important role in engine oil.
In the process of refining oil, the foam is often caused by the following reasons:
1. Moisture: if the base oil contains too much moisture, the heating process will produce steam, thus forming foam.
2. Gas: some ingredients contain gas themselves, which is released during heating and forms bubbles.
3. Additive reaction: some additives may react with other components to produce gas or foam. Defoamer for engine oil plays a role in breaking or inhibiting foam formation in engine oil. They can destabilize the foam film, causing the bubble to burst quickly and disappear. Defoamers can also reduce or eliminate foam formation by preventing air or other gases from accumulating in the oil.
The application of defoamer in oil refining is very common:
1. During the dehydration phase, defoamers help remove moisture from the base oil and reduce foaming problems caused by moisture.
2. Secondly, in the additive mixing stage, defoamer can prevent the reaction between additives to produce gas, and reduce the formation of foam.
3. Can also be used to improve the oil in high temperature, high pressure environment anti-foam performance.
