How to use silicone defoamer in paper making
The papermaking process is an important step in the papermaking process. Wood pulp, straw pulp or waste paper pulp (that is, waste books, waste paper), the above are passed through the pulper, and after super pulping, alkali and chlorine gas are added to The lignin is washed out and is the primary pulping black liquor. At this time, a large amount of gas has begun to accumulate, that is, bubbles appear. Some manufacturers are now starting to add silicone defoaming agents.
At this time, it is very beneficial to add a small amount of silicone defoamer.
After crushing the pulp, let’s move on to the most important step, papermaking. Papermaking is to feed the pulp into the papermaking cloth, which is a very thin layer of felt. It contains not only pulp, but also many chemical additives, such as: retention aids, dispersants, lubricants, sizing agents, and wet strength agents. filter aids and other chemical raw materials. A large amount of surfactants will appear concentratedly, and a large amount of foam will appear.
The silicone defoamer can now play a big role. Do not add it too early, because adding the defoamer too early will cause failure. It is best to add it when the foam just starts. The amount added depends on the amount of chemical additives. It is fixed, usually one thousandth of the pulp.
