How to test the performance of defoamer
Before using the defoamer, you must test it first, otherwise it will not achieve the ideal effect due to improper selection. So how to test the performance of the defoamer? The following defoamer manufacturers will introduce to you:
1. Shake bottle method: The simplest and most common method is the shake bottle test method. Add a certain amount of foaming liquid to the stoppered measuring cylinder. After shaking the bottle up and down the same number of times each time, let it stand and observe the foam height and defoaming time
2. Spray test: Spray the bubble solution to make bubbles, then add the defoamer to measure the defoaming effect based on the defoaming time
3. Circulation pump test: Put the bubble solution in a closed loop for circulation, add the defoamer for stirring, and measure the foam height. This method is to test the quantitative evaluation of the anti-foaming performance under the dynamic state of stirring, emulsification and shearing. When the solution circulates in the closed loop, the time required to reach a certain foam height is measured to evaluate the defoaming efficiency.
4. Density meter measurement: Use a density meter to measure the density of the foam-liquid mixture, and the difference between the density value and the density of the foaming liquid before stirring represents the foaming amount. The larger the density difference, the higher the gas content in the foam-liquid mixture, and the stronger the foaming force. The percentage of the density difference to the density of the foaming liquid before stirring represents the foaming rate. Test the foaming amount of the slurry after adding the defoaming agent, and the difference between the foaming amount of the blank slurry is the foam suppression amount, and then compare it with the foaming amount of the blank slurry to get the foam suppression rate of the defoaming agent.
