Defoaming agents are used in very small amounts in printing and dyeing auxiliaries, but they are indispensable. In printing and dyeing production and the compounding of printing and dyeing auxiliaries, silicone defoaming agents are the most commonly used.

Classification of defoaming agents
The main principle of defoaming agents is to use chemicals with surface-active properties to reduce the surface tension of liquids and destroy the bubble structure, thereby controlling and weakening the formation and stability of foam.
Defoaming agents can be divided according to different ingredients: silicone, polyether, fatty acid, alcohol, mineral oil, etc. In the printing and dyeing industry, according to the usage amount, we can divide it into silicone defoaming agents and Non-silicone defoaming agent.

Characteristics of silicone defoamer
1. To achieve the same defoaming effect, the dosage of silicone defoaming agent is much lower than that of other non-silicon defoaming agents.
2. Silicone defoaming agents are most commonly used in the printing and dyeing industry, especially in the compounding of pre-treatment additives and other additives that require low foaming.
3. Silicone defoaming agents have foam-suppressing properties, which other non-silicon defoaming agents do not have.
4. The disadvantage of silicone defoamer is that it is easy to float oil, resulting in oil spots; a good silicone defoamer must have good stability under different pH values, high temperatures, shear, electrolytes and other conditions.

Application scope: solvent-based coatings, light-curing coatings, solvent-free coatings.
Recommended dosage: 0.05-0.5% of the total amount of formula (please test the most appropriate amount before use)
Directions for use:
In order to obtain sufficient defoaming effect, it is recommended to add it before grinding. If added later, it should be mixed under high enough shear to ensure good distribution of defoamer.
Characteristics and advantages:
1、It has high efficient defoaming and foam inhibition performance, and it has very high defoaming effect on the microfoam in the coating products.
2, especially for white top coat and color paint defoaming effect is good, for UV roller coating mechanical bubble elimination has good effect.

Application scope: Suitable for: solvent-borne coatings; recommended for: light-curing coatings, solvent-free coatings.
