Application and development of defoaming agents in paper industry
As the world’s largest producer and consumer of paper and paperboard, China’s paper production accounts for more than a quarter of global paper and paperboard production. With the rapid development of China’s industrialization, the country’s total paper and cardboard output will reach 115.55 million tons by the end of 2020, an increase of 51.4 million tons from 2008. As an important basic raw material industry, the pulp and paper industry occupies an important position in the national economy. The normal operation of the pulp and paper process will directly affect the economic profits of the pulp and paper industry.
Foam is a crucial problem that often occurs in the pulp and paper production process. During the production process, improper foam control will seriously affect the execution of pulp and paper process conditions and the normal operation of the equipment, resulting in reduced product output and quality. During the pulping process, the generation and existence of foam will seriously hinder the normal progress of the pulp washing, screening, bleaching and beating processes. In the papermaking process, foam problems have a greater impact on the execution of process conditions such as pulp flow and dehydration forming, and directly affect the quality of paper.
The most direct and effective measure to control foam is to add appropriate defoaming agents.
