Application and characteristics of defoaming agent
Defoamer is currently recognized as the main general defoamer. It has two difficult characteristics: low surface tension and low volatility. Preservatives are a type of food additive that can inhibit microbial activity and prevent food from spoiling. In order to ensure that food has a certain shelf life, certain measures must be taken to prevent microbial infection and reproduction. Practice has proved that the use of preservatives is one of the most economical, effective and simplest ways to achieve the above goals. In addition, they are usually chemically inert and insoluble in water and various organic solvents. It is precisely because of their stability that this type of defoamer is usually non-toxic or low-toxic.
Organic defoamer is an organic compound that is both a single compound and a mixture composed of a certain formula. In the process of dimethyl silicone defoamer treatment, when the product is desizing with a desizing agent, and the bleaching agent and detergent are used for bleaching and washing, high-temperature scouring is used to produce foam in order to better and more evenly penetrate the fabric. Thickeners are mainly used to improve and increase the viscosity of food, maintain the color, aroma, taste and stability of fluid food and jelly food, improve the physical properties of food, and make food feel smooth and palatable. Thickeners can increase the viscosity of food or form gel, thereby changing the physical properties of food, giving food a sticky and suitable taste, and also have the functions of emulsification, stabilization or suspension. There are currently 39 varieties of thickeners approved for use in China. Thickeners are all hydrophilic polymer compounds, also known as hydrosols. Due to the diversity and particularity of the application fields of organic defoamers, organic defoamers are often a special type of defoamer. In order to evaluate the ideal defoamer, its physical and chemical properties must meet the requirements of the user. Generally, the following factors are considered: (1) The surface tension is lower than that of the foam medium, (2) It is insoluble in the foam medium; (3) It does not react with the foam medium and does not decompose, (4) It is low toxic or non-toxic, (5) It has good defoaming and anti-foaming capabilities; (6) It is stable in storage and low in cost.
With the rapid development of the defoamer industry, various new defoamers have been launched one after another. The fourth generation of foreign defoamers has entered the application stage because it involves many industries. The wide application range of defoamers is unmatched by other additives. Therefore, the research and development of defoamers is a hot research topic at present and in the future.
